发明名称 APPARATUS FOR MEASURING MOISTURE
摘要 PURPOSE:To increase electrolytic speed, to shorten a moisture separating time, to enhance accuracy and to measure moisture within a short time by alternately laminating positive and negative electrode plates within an electrolytic cell and interposing an adsorbent between the electrode plates. CONSTITUTION:An electrolytic cell 1 consists of a cylindrical body 3, a lid body 4 and a bottom body 5. Positive electrodes 20 and negative electrodes 21 are alternately laminated up and down within the cylindrical body 3 in a multiplayer state so as to be interchangeable and an adsorbent 30 composed of phosphorus pentoxide is held between the electrode plates 20, 21. When the moisture in a sample is introduced into the cell 1, the moisture is adsorbed by the adsorbent 30 and the electric conductivity of the adsorbent 5 increases. When a DC current is applied to the electrode plates 20, 21, the adsorbed moisture is electrolyzed to be decomposed into moisture and oxygen to be separated from the adsorbent and this electrolytic current is proportional to the amount of moisture and, from this quantity of electricity, the amount of moisture is measured. The contact area with moisture to be treated and a current flowing area become wide because of the multilayer structure of the electrode plates 20, 21 and electrolytic capacity is increased. Further, electrolytic speed is increased by an increase in the contact area with moisture.
