REGENERATING METHOD OF PELLET FOR IMMOBILIZING MICROORGANISM

PURPOSE:To regenerate pellets which have been used for a long period, deteriorated and lowered in strength to the pellets having high strength and activity for microorganisms by impregnating or coating the pellets for immobilizing microorganisms which are drawn out from a waste water treating tank with the high polymer material. CONSTITUTION:Pellets 1 drawn out from a waste water treating tank are firstly introduced into a mixing tank 2 and slowly agitated via an agitator 3. Herein the pellets 1 are impregnated with material liquid 4 in the mixing tank 2. This impregnation is performed in several minutes to tens minutes. Then the pellets 1 are transferred to a gelation tank 5 and the material liquid 4 incorporated in the pellets 1 is allowed to gel by a gelatinizer 6. Thereby the pellets which have been used for a long period, deteriorated and lowered in strength are regenerated to the regenerated pellets 7 having high strength and activity for microorganisms by the material remarkably less than the case of freshly manufacturing the pellets.
