<p>A magnetic-optical recording medium (M) is described which comprises an exchange-interacted, multi-layered magnetic thin film (3,4) formed on a tranparent substrate (1) as a recording layer (5).The respective magnetic thin films are disigned to satisfy necessary conditions for photo intensity modulation with respect to the coercive force, saturation magnetization, thickness, and interfacial magnetic wall energy between the magnetic thin films. Moreover, the temperature change of an inversional magnetic field is controlled by two parameters. By this, the magneto-optical recording medium has good overwriting characteristics, while ensuring stable readout and transfer operations with a good C/N value. <IMAGE></p> |
