The steam raiser has wall tubes and chord beams running parallel to the tube wall casing and normal to the plant length. Each beam is joined at one or both ends to a device to carry the beam with compensation for heat expansion of the surround wall etc. The support is composed of two straps with hinge axes normal to the beam length. The wall itself bears on the beam via heat-expanding support. Both straps (4,4') are fixed to the adjacent wall etc (5) and grasp round the beam (3) lengthways, with one hinge axis (6) as close as possible to the wall and the other axis (7) near the free ends of the straps so that both axes pass between straps and beam. ADVANTAGE - Heat expansion connection between straps and chord beam wall support eliminates need for costly pipe bends. |
