<p>PURPOSE:To increase the wear resistance of a metallic product, to suppress the generation of strain thereon causesd by hardening and to increase its dimensional accuracy, in the circumferential face of a metallic product, by subjecting plural belt-like areas connected in the face direction and connected intermittently in the axial direction to hardening. CONSTITUTION:The circumferential face of a metallic product having an outer circumferential face or an inner circumferential face 36 such as a clutch hub 30, a turbine hub or the like is hardened. At this time, plural belt-like areas 38 connected in the face direction of the above inner circumferential face 36 and connected intermittently in the axial direction are subjected to induction hardening in a coolant. Thus, in the metallic product, its wear resistance improves, furthermore the range subjected to thermal effect generated in the hardened places is suppressed to a nallow one because the hardening is executed in a coolant and the generation of strain is suppressed.</p> |
