PURPOSE:To enable recording with high accuracy by using a beam from a predetermined reflection surface of a rotary polygon mirror according to recording density of image information so as to optionally switch the image information between normal recording density and plural recording density with simple constitution. CONSTITUTION:An inrush current is set at 11 so that light output from a laser 1 becomes P1, and reflection light from only reflection surfaces 3a and 3c which are every other surface of a plural reflection surfaces of a rotary polygon mirror 3 are used at this time. That is, laser beam from the reflection surface 3a is detected by a light receiving element 11 and horizontally synchronized, and image information is recorded as one line on the surface of a sensitizing drum 7, while the laser beam from the next reflection surface 3b is detected by the light receiving element 11, but the laser beam based on the image information is not irradiated from the laser beam 1 at this time. By this, the rotation numbers of the rotary polygon mirror 3 and the sensitizing drum 7 are made constant, and recording with high accuracy is realized in the state where rotation accuracy is satisfactorily maintained. |
