PURPOSE:To ensure the safety of passengers by detecting a determined level of an acceleration sensor to generate a gate signal having a fixed time width, and detecting a pulse-like signal having a large level fluctuation which is outputted from the acceleration sensor during the gate signal generating period. CONSTITUTION:A time means 7 for detecting a determined level of an acceleration sensor 1 to generate a gate signal having a fixed time width and a detecting means 11 for detecting a pulse-like signal having a large level fluctuation which is outputted from the acceleration sensor 1 during the gate signal generating period are provided. At the time of operating the timer means 7 in the early stage of a collision, the pulse-like characteristic waveform contained in the acceleration sensor 1 output 1 is detected by the detecting means 11 to detect the collision. Thus, the collision can be precisely detected, and the safety of passengers can be ensured. |
