A plug valve (A) includes a molded polymeric valve body (B) having a bore (10) extending therethrough. Inlet and outlet branch passages (16, 18) are integrally molded with the valve body (B) and communicate with the bore (10). A valve member is received in the bore (10) and is adapted for rotation between open and closed positions for regulating fluid flow through the plug valve (A). The valve body (B) includes a metal reinforcing member (D) molded therein. Centering rings (50, 52) formed from substantially the same polymer as the valve body (B) are received on opposite ends of the reinforcing member (D) to completely encapsulate the reinforcing member (D). The reinforcing member (D) is received concentrically around the bore (10) to maintain close dimensional tolerances between the valve member and valve body (B). <IMAGE>
