PURPOSE:To enable a slant style of character such as a Japanese character to be displayed with an easy-to-identify and naturally slanted pattern by applying a parallelogram without any right apex angle to the shape of each picture element defined with each color selector member and dousing member. CONSTITUTION:Color filters 2 have an inclination angle of five degrees with the vertical axis of ordinates. Stripe masks 3 have an inclination angle of five degrees to the vertical axis, and comprise stripe form sections laid between adjacent color filters 2 and sections having the same width as the aforesaid sections and laid at a constant pitch in parallel to the horizontal axis of the ordinates. Consequently, the shape of the open sections of grid-like stripe masks 3 is a parallelogram having each apex inclined only five degrees from a right angle. Also, the color filters 2 and transparent conductive films 1 are inclined only five degrees to match the shape of the open sections. The open sections become picture elements. According to this construction, the display pattern of a slant style character such as a Japanese character and a shape to be slanted becomes an easy-to-identify and naturally slanted pattern. |
