PURPOSE:To obtain an yellow dye image improved not only in heat resistance, light fastness and fixing properties but also in heat diffusibility, chelating properties and hue by forming an image on an image receiving material by the chelate dye formed by the reaction of a yellow dye with a metal ion. CONSTITUTION:When a metal ion is allowed to be present in the image receiving layer 2 of an image receiving material 3 consisting of a support 1 and the image receiving layer 2, the yellow dye in the thermal layer 5 of a thermal transfer recording material 6 consisting of a support 4 and the thermal layer 5 is diffused and transferred to the image receiving material 3, for example, by the heat from the heating resistor 8 of a thermal head 7 and reacted with the metal ion in the image receiving layer 5 to form a chelate dye. Further, when the metal ion is allowed to be present in the hot-melt layer 9 provided on the surface of the thermal layer 5, the dye in the thermal layer 5 of the thermal transfer recording material 10 consisting of the support 4, the thermal layer 5 and the hot-melt layer 9 is diffused and transferred to the hot-melt layer 9 by the heat from the heating resistor 8 of the thermal head 7. |
