<p>PURPOSE:To make efficiently absorbed on an adsorbent and remove NOx by oxidizing NO generated by the reaction of the moisture in air with NO2 on the adsorbent surface and difficult to be adsorbed with ozone to NO2. CONSTITUTION:Ozone is mixed into the waste gas contg. nitrogen oxides, and the gaseous mixture is passed through an adsorption vessel 11 packed with an adsorbent consisting essentially of the material selected from a group consisting of activated carbon, zeolite, silica gel, alumina and natural ore. The gas contg. nitrogen monoxide generated when nitrogen oxides are adsorbed and removed is then mixed with ozone, and the gaseous mixture is passed through other adsorption vessels 12 and 13 packed with an adsorbent consisting essentially of the material selected from a group consisting of activated carbon, zeolite, silica gel, alumina and natural ore. Consequently, NOx are efficiently adsorbed and removed from the waste gas having a low content of NOx.</p> |
