<p>PURPOSE:To enable detection of the position of an endoscope in a safe and sanitary manner by detecting the position of the endoscope by straight traveling components traveling from an organism and the endoscope. CONSTITUTION:A solid image sensor 8b takes a straight traveling light component out of light passing through an organism of a person 3 to be inspected so as to be converted into an electrical signal. Here, when passing through the organism alone of the person 3 to be inspected, a laser light of a light source device 6 is little absorbed to impinge on a camera section 8. On the other hand, the laser light is absorbed or reflected mostly by an electronic endoscope 1. An image processing section 10 receives an electrical signal from the solid image sensor 8b to be converted into a standard video signal, which is outputted to an image output section 11. The image output section 11 outputs video signals of an endoscope device 2 and the image output section 11. A monitor 12 displays an endoscope image of the person 3 to be inspected and the position and the shape of the electronic endoscope 1 in a body cavity of the person 3 to be inspected as image separately by the video signals from the image processing section 10.</p> |
