A digital engine analyzer receives analog input signals from an engine being analyzed and converts the analog signals into digital data signals for use in generating a display on a CRT screen of alphanumeric characters representing numerical values of the analog input signals and into waveform data signals for use in producing a display on the CRT screen of primary and secondary waveform patterns, the analyzer including a row counter which registers a count indicative of the row in which the electronic beam is sweeping at an instant of time and a comparator circuit which compares the state of the row counter with a reference signal and enables only the digital data signals to be applied to the CRT drive circuit for a first portion of the beam scan and only waveform data signals to be applied to the CRT drive circuit for the remainder of the beam scan whereby only alphanumeric information is displayed on the upper portion of the CRT screen and only waveform patterns are displayed on the lower portion of the CRT screen. |
