PURPOSE:To easily attain autofocusing to multiple points by specifying an actually used pixel block of any position an any size and arranging so that the condition of signal accumulation only can be detected. CONSTITUTION:As the received light information of each of the paired area sensors 23P and 23Q, local image information of corresponding position is read, subjected to correlation calculation, and the value expressing the focus adjustment condition of an objective lens facing a subject in each position is calculated. Because the phase difference type in general principle takes the comparative correlation between corresponding positions of two light images, each of optionally specified multiple focus detecting areas has one corresponding sensor picture element block in each of the areas 23P and 23Q. |
