PURPOSE:To obtain the cache memory device with a defective entry removing mechanism which is easily controlled by providing storage means which identify a defective entry containing a defective bit and a control means which performs control so that this defective entry is not substituted by the storage means. CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with the storage means 107 and 108 for identifying the defective entry containing the defective bit and the control means 113 which performs the control so that the defective entry is not substituted. The defective entry is therefore not substituted and still held ineffective when valid memories 104 and 105 are reset, and data and a tag which are meaningful to the defective entry are neither stored nor read out for use. Consequently, the defective entry is completely removed with only the simple constitution. |
