<p>PURPOSE:To transmit the combustion heat of particulates in the regeneration of a filter through cooling water to the periphery of an engine for improving low temperature starting property by providing a cooling water path around the filter and regenerate the filter in the low temperature starting of the engine. CONSTITUTION:When a starter switch 14 is turned on in starting an engine a control circuit 5 judges whether or not the engine is started in low temperature on the basis of the output of a water temperature sensor 15. In the low temperature start, the control circuit 5 outputs an operation signal to a relay 6 to supply current to an electric heater 4 and heat the same. When an engine body 11 begins to crank, air flows in exhaust pipes 3a, 3b, so that the heat of the electric heater 4 is transmitted to particulates caught in a filter 1 to fire them for regenerating the filter 1. Then, the heat generated by the combustion of the particulates is transmitted to cooling water W in a water jacket 8 through the filter 1 and a trap container 2, so that the engine body 11 is warmed to improve a starting property.</p> |
