LIGHT-WEIGHT STRUCTURAL COMPOSITE MATERIAL REINFORCED WITH NATURAL FIBER AND PREPARATION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To prepare the title material having an improved impact strength by molding and curing a mixture of a plastic with a natural fiber. CONSTITUTION:The title material is prepd. by molding and curing a mixture of a plastic with a natural fiber. For example, a mixture of a paper mulberry fiber as a natural fiber with a thermosetting resin as a plastic is put into a mold, heated to the curing temp. of the resin to cure it, and demolded to give the title material. The prepd. material, wherein the plastic has sufficiently penetrated through the fiber and the fibers are complicately intertwined with each other, is almost free from interlaminar separation and retains an increased impact strength.
