PURPOSE:To enhance the assemblage and maintenance properties and reliability in the fixing of a lead speed-reduction type calorimeter by providing holding cases in each of which a plurality of cone-shaped segments covering an elementary particle source are aligned and stored, and inserting a key member into a key channel formed on each side of the rear portion of each holding case so as to couple the holding cases together. CONSTITUTION:Each holding case 4 stores and holds cone-shaped segments 3. The segments 3 each comprise a predetermined number of lead plates 7 stacked together, the lead plates 7 each having scintillation fibers 6 provided in a channel 5. Each holding case 4 is formed into a rectangular parallelepiped by stainless steel. A key channel 8 capable of being fitted with a key member 9 is formed on each side of the rear portion of each holding case 4. The key member 9 has a wedge-shaped portion 13 formed in an erected portion 11 stood up from a flange portion 10, with a V-shaped channel 12 sandwiched between the erected portion 11 and the wedge-shaped portion 13. The key member 9 slides in the direction indicated by the arrow to fit into the respective key channels 8 of adjacent holding cases 4 simultaneously, thereby coupling the cases 4 together.
