PURPOSE:To improve focusing, and to prevent the generation of the read error of a signal by forming a peripheral section on the bit region side of a recording layer in a bit region while crossing the boundaries of a group region and the bit region. CONSTITUTION:An information recording medium is composed of a discoid substrate 1, a recording layer 2 formed on the outer circumferential side of the substrate 1 and consisting of a dyestuff, a reflecting layer 3 formed onto the substrate and the recording layer 2, and a protective layer 4 shaped onto the reflecting layer 3, and has a bit region 5, in which bits as recording signals are formed onto the substrate 1, and a group region 6, in which groups are formed onto the substrate 1 and the recording layer 2 is shaped onto the groups and which can record information. The bits 8, to which information is recorded, are formed in the bit region 5 and pre-groups 9 for guiding a laser for recording in the group region 6. There is the swelling peripheral section of the recording layer 2 formed in the bit region 5. Accordingly, focusing is improved, and the generation of the read error of a signal is prevented. |
