Making holes smaller than 10 micron in metal by spark erosion and part refilling by chemical deposition. N7-. By first piercing larger holes of the correct shape by spark erosion and then forming a chemical deposit to reduce the hole to the required size, preferably by precipitating Ni from a Ni-P bath. This technique overcomes the practical lower limit of about 10 micron inherent in existing spark-erosion methods. Used on 10 micron metal foil to produce 2 micron holes and slits of 500 x 2 micron, final foil thickness 20 micron.
|
