In a device for achieving or measuring a pressure difference in an equipment for ventilation or air treatment, a throttle disc (1) with through holes is inserted or insertable into an air flow duct or the like. The holes (2) of the throttle disc (1) are formed with smooth rounded edge portions (3) at the up-stream side (4) of the disc and with flanged edge portions (5) at the down-stream side (6) of the disc. The purpose of this shape of the throttle disc is to achieve a lower sound generation. The device according to the invention may be used in many different types of equipments for ventilation or air treatment, but is particularly suitable as a fixed throttle disc (13) and/or as a controllable, disc-shaped throttle blade (11) in connection with air supply devices where there is a particular demand for low sound generation.
