<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the edge of the skirt pat of a container flange from crack ing and the container from breaking by a method wherein, in a plastic sheet- made container having a flange 1, the ratio of the radius of curvature produced at the corner of the flange by its skirt part 2 and horizontal part 3 to their lengths are set within a specific range. CONSTITUTION:A flange 1 refers to the part projecting outwardly and folded back all around the periphery of the top opening of a container, a horizontal part 3 of the flange refers to the part extending horizontally from the container body of the folded part and a skirt part refers to the part extending downwardly from the horizontal part. The radius of curvature produced at the corner of the container flange by the skirt part 2 and the horizontal part 3 is required to be 0.01-1.5. The radius of curvature is preferably from 0.1 to 1.0, because a plastic sheet-made container can easily be drawn in the later process after its formation and handled during inspection and in packaging process and there is no occurrence of flange cracking. It is also preferable to give the skirt and the horizontal part the length ratio amounting to between 1:1 and 2:1, because the article can easily be handled in the later process after its formation and there is no occurrence of flange cracking.</p> |
