PURPOSE:To enable respective transaction programs to freely set menu items characteristic to respective transactions by using menu data streams by controlling menu items, which are displayed on a terminal device, directly by a host computer. CONSTITUTION:A transaction program 10 reads transaction image planes and menu data out of a transaction image plane data file 100 and a menu data file 101 respectively and sends them to a terminal on-line program 20. An operator selects main menu items displayed on a display part 22 by using a input part 23 and also selects optional menu subordinate items and then menu numbers are sent to the menu control part 202 of the terminal on-line program 20 through an input/output control part 21. The menu control part 202 obtains a menu ID by referring to a menu table 2020 and sends it to a transaction program in the host computer. The transaction program 10 reads and sends the necessary menu data file 101 at need. Consequently, menu items can freely be altered and added. |
