PURPOSE:To stably obtain the subject remarkably ultrafine fiber having a very soft touch and useful for a base fabric of an artificial leather at a low cost by blending a polyamide with polyethylene and an acid-modified polyolefin and forming a blended fiber. CONSTITUTION:A mixture composed of (A) a polyamide, (B) polyethylene and (C) an acid-modified polyolefin and satisfying both the relations WA/WB=(30-60):(70-40) and WC/(WA+WB)=0.01-0.30 [WA WB and WC respectively show weight of component (A), (B) and (C) contained in mixture] is melt spun and stretched to produce a blended fiber having 1-10 denier single yarn fineness. The components (B) and (C) are dissolved and removed from the above- obtained fiber, thus giving the objective fiber having <=0.1 denier fineness. |
