An arrangement for loading and unloading a vehicle (1) onto and from a carrier (2) for the vehicle comprises a first path (3) leading to the carrier (2) and a second path (5) located above the first one and diverging upwardly with respect to the latter as seen in the loading direction. The second path is divided into two path portions having a space therebetween for a passage of the vehicle therein on loading and unloading, respectively. Second support means (8) are arranged along both sides of the vehicle so as to, at a certain vertical distance between the two paths (3, 5), come to bear onto the second path and upon continued movement of the vehicle in the direction of the path divergence transfer an increasing portion of the weight of the vehicle from the first to the second path. The second path extends to and over the carrier (2) and is arranged to, in a position with the vehicle (1) completely over the carrier, support the entire vehicle weight through said second support means (8) and keep the vehicle hanging above the carrier. The second path and the carrier are arranged to carry out the relative movements vertically so as to transfer the weight of the vehicle from the second path (5) to the carrier (2). |
