PURPOSE:To feed a specified volume of sheets with high accuracy in the sheet feed device of a serial printer by providing a sheet feed belt which is put in a turning movement endlessly, an elastic body for forming a progressive wave, a pressurizing roller which contacts a progressive wave forming face under pressure, and paper feed rollers. CONSTITUTION:When a progressive wave advancing in the direction of the arrow U is formed in an elastic body 1, a force in the reverse direction to the advancing direction U acts on the surface of the elastic body by an elliptic motion generated on the straight portion 1c on one side of the elastic body, and the force acts on a belt 2 through a pressurizing roller 3 to move the belt 2 in the direction of the arrow. By turning movement of the belt 2, rollers 4, 5 are respectively rotated in the direction of the arrow to carry a sheet 10. At this time, guide rollers 101 are arranged for the sheet 10 not to move to the elastic body 1 side. These guide members are spur- shaped discs and pressed against the belt 2 by springs. When the belt 2 is turned in the direction of the arrow, the guide members 101 are put in a turning movement in the direction of the arrow. At this time, the outer peripheral parts of the guide members 101 are pressed against the belt 2 to guide the end part of the sheet 10. |
