PURPOSE:To prevent insects from invading a muffler through a tailpipe, by attaching a wire to the open rear end of the tailpipe of the muffler. CONSTITUTION:A small-diameter wire bent almost as U is attached to the end of a tailpipe 8, through which exhaust gas from a muffler 3 is discharged into the atmosphere, so that the wire extends in the diametral direction of the open end of the tailpipe 8. The maximum width L of the U-shaped wire is made larger than the diameter D of the tailpipe 8 so that the wire is engaged like a clip. This results in preventing a wasp or the like from entering through the opening of the tailpipe 8 and building a nest which would plug it up and cause engine trouble. |
