1,188,266. Valves. WORTHINGTON CORP. 23 April, 1968 [26 Oct., 1967], No. 19039/68. Heading F2V. A check valve 10, which is adapted to be secured to a support 2 in a manner such that it will not become loosened and hence detached from the support in the event of the latter being subjected to vibration, includes a stamped body 11 which is formed with a cylindrical portion 13 adapted to fit into an aperture 3 formed in the support, a circular flange portion 14, a hub 26 designed to slidably receive the shaft 32 of an upwardly biased valve closure member 31, four ribs 28 which join the hub to the flange and so define four fluid flow apertures 29a, 29b, 29c and 29d, and two oppositely disposed flanges 15 and 16 for receiving bolts 19, 20 which secure the body to the support, the two flanges each having integrally formed therewith two deformable lugs 40, 41 and 42, 43 respectively, which, when the body has been secured to the support, are bent into engagement with the bolts, as in Fig. 3, in order to prevent the latter from becoming loosened. An annular, substantially U-shaped sealing ring 24 is disposed between the body and support and has its legs so shaped, (Fig. 7, not shown), that it always ensures positive sealing of the valve even in the event of the support 2 being of curved configuration (Fig. 8, not shown).
|
