A universal fitting box has screws (16) and clips (clamps) (17) for attachment in a dry partition, and means (21) for closing off the front opening of the box for fitting into a conventional partition. The temporary closing-off for fitting into a conventional partition includes a plastic film stuck to the perimeter of the opening. The box may receive appliances to be fixed by clips or by screws, or to a rail having a symmetrical profile. A removable partition allows subdivision of the box into two parts. A screw (16) and clip (17) attachment system is easily removable. <IMAGE>
