PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of transfer time by dividing a register group constituting a scan path into register groups so that the numbers of bits become equal, specifying the register with a specifying means, and performing serial in/out operation with the register. CONSTITUTION:A register group constituting a scan path is divided into N groups so that the number of bits becomes equal. The scanning operation modes of the register groups and the address data of the register which is to perform the scanning in/out operation are set in a scanning address register 60. The scanning in/out operation is performed based on the contents of the register. By this constitution, the amount of the data when the scanning in/out operation is performed can be made small, the data transfer time can be shortened and the scanning in-out operation can be performed efficiently. |
