<p>PURPOSE:To cause the whole of a transfer material to be electrostatically attracted by a transfer drum so as to obtain a good image by providing a static generating means in contact with each roller comprising a dielectric, for charging each roller by means of friction during rotation of each roller. CONSTITUTION:A sponge 1 serving as a static generating means which generates static electricity on a pretransfer toller 21a by means of friction is made to abut on the pretransfer toller 21a. When the roller 21a is rotated static electricity is generated between the roller 21a and the sponge 1 by friction and the roller 21a is charged with static electricity and a pretransfer roller 21b made in a pair with the roller 21a is also charged. When paper P is fed between the rollers 21a, 21b static electricity with which the rollers 21a, 21b are charged is shifted to the paper P and the whole part of the paper P is also charged, in which state the paper P is fed to a transfer drum 11. In this case, foreign material such as powder of paper attached to the surface of the paper P is attracted by the rollers 21a, 21b because of static electricity and so the paper P is fed to the transfer drum 11 with no foreign material such as powder of paper attached thereto and is stuck to the surface of the drum 11 well whereby an excellent image can be obtained.</p> |
