In a method and system for thermal modelling of a component, various thermal parts inside the component package constituting a thermal network are first identified, then the various thermal resistances making up this thermal network are determined. The thermal model obtained is then entered in an operating system such as a system for positioning a set of components. Application is found in the production of thermal models of electronic components.
