The present invention relates to a portable electronic device consisting of a flat graphic screen, a nonvolatile read-only mass memory (preferably a digital optical disk) containing in coded form the scores of a large number of musical works, a computer and a user interface, these components of the device being connected and arranged in such a way that the user can call up a visual display on the screen of the scores of musical works contained in the repertoire held in memory. The device may advantageously also have other built-in functions (e.g. a tuning tone, a pitch measuring device) and various hardware and software interfaces. The device according to the invention relates more particularly to musicians.
