The method of producing a material based on reinforced elastomer, consisting in producing a card web by the carding of a fibrous reinforcing substance, then in inserting the latter between two sheets of elastomer material in order to form a three-layer assembly, is, according to the invention, characterised by at least one subsequent needle-bonding operation. The reinforced elastomer material obtained by the method of the invention, and which has a needle-bonded structure, can be used to manufacture vibration-absorbing elements (dampers). <IMAGE>
