Evaporator for motor vehicle air-conditioning installation, comprising a bundle of parallel tubes (1c, 1c') and a connection box (3) placed at one end of the bundle and formed by a first plate (5) passed through by the tubes, and a second plate (7), parallel to the first. Annular partitions (6c), each surrounding the ends of two adjacent tubes and formed in a single piece with the first plate, extend to the second plate, in order to define closed connection chambers between the tubes.
