Heat-sensitive recording material consisting of a support, a heat-sensitive colouring layer capable of giving rise to colour formation by application of heat thereto, formed on the said support and of a protective layer including a resin and a filler formed on the said heat-sensitive colouring layer, the said filler including at least one component chosen from particles of aluminium hydroxide and aluminium oxide, with a volume-mean diameter of 1 mu m or less, the quantity of the particles with a diameter of 4 mu m or less being 90 % by volume or more of the total of the particles.
