PURPOSE:To obtain the subject conductor useful as the electrolyte of a solid electrolyte type fuel cell by mixing CeO2- and ZrO2-based oxide ion conducting materials, press-molding and firing the mixture. CONSTITUTION:A CeO2-based oxide ion conducting material such as a CeO2-Y2O3 solid soln. and a ZrO2-based oxide ion conducting material such as a ZrO2-Y2O3 solid soln. are powdered to 0.05-1mum particle size, mixed in 9:1-6:4 molar ratio, molded by a doctor blade method or other method and fired at 1,300-1,600 deg.C in an oxygen atmosphere to obtain an oxide ion conductor. |
