PURPOSE:To obtain a long, high-transmissive hollow light wave guide by manufacturing separately a connecting sleeve in which a dielectric layer is provided and a connected pipe outisde of which a dielectric layer is provided, and joining them together. CONSTITUTION:A connecting sleeve 1 with a hollow area 1c is manufactured by forming a dielectric layer 1a outside of a base material 1d, forming a metal layer 1b outside thereof and then removing 1d with chemical etching. A connected pipe 2 for which a dielectric layer 2a is exposed at a terminal 2d is manufactured by forming the dielectric layer 2a outside of a base material 2c and forming a metal layer 2b outside thereof, except at the terminal 2d inserted into the sleeve 1. Also, a connected pipe 3 is manufactured which is provided with a dielectric layer 3a inserted into the sleeve 1 at the other end. The metal layers 2b, 3b of the pipes 2, 3 are put in collide contact with the respective ends of the sleeve 1. It is thus possible to easily obtain a long, low- loss hollow light wave guide. |
