ALPHA-OLEFIN POLYMERIZATION CATALYST COMPOSITION AND PROCESS FOR POLYMERIZATION OLEFINS

A catalyst composition for polymerizing alph-aolefin comprises (A) a solid catalyst ingredient obtained by dissolving magnesium compound of formula Mg(OR)nX2-n 0 <= n <= 2 (where R is hycrocarbon group and X is halogen atom) in a mixture of hydrocarbon solution and at least one compound selected from alcohols, esters and alkoxy organic aluminum, and subsequently adding titanium compound of formula TiX4 (where X is halogen atom), (B) organic metal compound selected from I-III group in the periodic table, and (C) organic silicone compound containing Si-O-C bond. The catalyst composition gives a high stereoregular product at high yield.
