The galvanised steel post (1) is of a right angle section. The post is sufficiently stiff to be hammered or rammed into the ground. Hooks (3) are welded or bolted to the posts to act as fasteners for the fence wires. The foot or lower end of the post may be tapered, with a sharp end, for ease of driving into the ground. There is a horizontal plate (2) inside the angle near the middle of the post to limit the depth to which it can be driven into the ground.
