<p>The separation by distillation was previously difficult and costly due to the relative close volatilities of carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulfide at high carbon dioxide concentrations. The distillative separation is improved by adding a C3-C6alkane or a mixture of C3-C6alkanes to a distillation column to increase the relative volatility of the carbon dioxide to the hydrogen sulfide. The principal uses of the invention are natural occuring gas and associated gas mixtures; coal gasification or liquifaction crude gas products, sulfure processing "tail" gases. </p> |
