Viscoelastic qualities measuring equipment for temperable surface - applies static and dynamic force and path measurer to rearward extension of probe tip at front end of driven stamp
摘要
The probe tip (1) penetrates a microscopically small area of the surface of the sample (13), e.g. an elastomer. The tip holder (2) is mechanically joined to the probe foundation piece (3) joined to retaining springs (14, 15) and axially slidable. The foundation piece has a highly permeable zone (4) and a soft iron piece or permanent magnet (5) at the upper end. A coil is wound (6) axially around the latter to generate constant and variable pressure forces. A coil system (7) is assigned to the base part and coupled to a carrier frequency measurer which produces an output signal (12) at a voltage (VA) proportional to the sliding of the foundation piece. The direction of movement of the latter is unforced parallel to the normal of the sample surface. USE/ADVANTAGE - Polymers, e.g. real and imaging components of the E modulus and the material attenuation. Ascertaining attenuation behaviour of thin surface layer in micro range. Hardness spectrum very wide, i.e. over usual range of elastomers. No special conditions of surface quality required. It can be structured and uneven. No special preparation of specimen necessary. Rapid testing suitable for mass prodn. conditions.
