A respiratory apparatus for the emergency supply of oxygen to passengers in an aircraft comprises an installation container 1 which can be closed by a cover 2 and which can be fastened above the row of seats, which container accommodates at least one oxygen mask and in which container there is arranged an exothermic chemical oxygen generator 3 which is connected to the oxygen mask and which is pivotally mounted to the container, e.g. by supporting or holding brackets 4 (5 Fig 2 not shown), so that the oxygen generator may be pivoted in a direction outwardly of the container from a stowed position within the container to an operative portion shown. Displacing a locking device releases a firing pin of the generator and the generator from a latched condition in the stowed position for pivotal movement to its operative position. <IMAGE> |
