PURPOSE: To provide a pharmaceutical and food composition that is very effective as a remedy for a cold and a preventive for pollinosis with high safety by allowing a powder comprising plant seeds of citrus family and plant fruits of euphorbia family to absorb concentrated infusion of the plant roots of lily family and Theaceae family. CONSTITUTION: Seeds of a citrus plant [for example, citron (Citrus junos)] and fruits of an euphorbia plant (for example, Phyllanthus emblica) are combined, ground, dried and crushed to prepare the main flour. The roots of plants in lily family, for example, golden-banded lily (Lilium auratum Lindl) or day lily (Hemerocallis fulva) and the roots of plants of Theaceae family, for example, Camellia oleifera Abel are cut into fine pieces, thoroughly infused with water, gradually concentrated by evaporation, the concentrate is roughly filtered, allowed to stand for cooling for a while. Then, the concentrated infusion is absorbed in the above-stated main flour and dried. Finally, crushing and sieving are repeated to prepare fine powder of uniform particle size. In a preferred embodiment, citrus seeds and Phyllanthus fruits are used in amounts of 15-25 pts.wt., respectively and the roots of lily and Theaceae family, in amounts of 25-30 pts.wt., respectively. |
