<p>A lifting apparatus has a movable chassis (1), a vertically movable platform (16) disposed over the chassis and a telescopic boom body (13) connected between the chassis and the boom body and arranged to form a Z-shape in side view. An angle detector (56,57) gives a signal indicative of the angle of inclination of the boom body relative to the chassis.
