PURPOSE:To restrain reaction between negative electrode lithium and a nonaqueous electrolyte, and improve a preservation characteristic and a charge and discharge cycle characteristic by using unsaturated annular carbonic ester as a solvent for a nonaqueous electrolyte. CONSTITUTION:A nonaqueous electrolyte battery is composed of a negative electrode 1, negative electrode can 2, negative electrode electricity collecting body 3, positive electrode 4, positive electrode can 5, positive electrode electricity collecting body 6, separator 7, and insulating packing 8. At least one kind of unsaturated annular carbonic ester is used as an organic solvent composing a nonaqueous electrolyte. The unsaturated annular carbonic ester has a high dielectric constant, resulting in an excellent solvent, and also is preferentially adsorbed to an active lithium metal on a negative electrode surface by endocyclic unsaturated joining or preduces a thin film by the reaction with lithium metal. This permits the restraint of reaction between negative electrode lithium and the nonaqueous electrolyte, and the improvement of a preservation characteristic and a charge and discharge cycle characteristic. |
