A solar cell module (1) has a number of cells (11-15) formed on a glass substrate. The cells are produced using thin film techology and are interconnected by a conductor strip (4). Voltage limiting diodes (21-25) are coupled in series and in parallel with the solar cells. Other diodes (5, 6) are at the input and output terminals. The cells are formed with a photo-electric layer (8) between transparent electrodes (7, 9). Both solar cells and diodes are separated by grooves (10).
