1,4-Dihydro-2-methyl- 3-pyridyl ether derivs. of formula (I) and their physiologically innocuous salts are new; R1 = CN, NO2 or -COOR5; R2 = 6-12C aryl opt. mono-, di- or trisubstd. by halogen, CN, NO2, CF3, OCF3, SCF3, 1-4C alkyl or 1-4C alkoxy; R3 = 6-12C aryl or unbranched, branched or cyclic 1-6C alkyl; R4 = unbranched 2-4C alkyl or amino; R5 = unbranched, branched or cyclic 1-6C alkyl, the chain of which may be interrupted by an O-atom and which can carry one or more substituents selected from halgoen, CN, OH, phenyl, phenoxy and 4-(6-oxo-1,4,5,6-tetrahydro pyridazine-3-yl)-phenyl.
