The skid chain has a holding ring with lock on the inside of the tyre and from which sections of chain extend over the tyre surface to a tension chain on the outside. The lock comprises a slotted sleeve on one end of the ring and engaged by a head on the other end. A compression sleeve is fitted between the slotted one and the respective end of the ring, and forms a stop when squeezed. An injection-moulded plate can be used to join sections of chain together on the running surface. ADVANTAGE - Easy handling and automatic tensioning.
