The seat has a backrest (1) mounted at the upper end of a holder on a first swivel axis (100). A seat part (2) is connected to a front support part (3) which is mounted along a parallel fourth swivel axis (300) on the lower end of the holder (4-8). The second and third swivel axes (120, 230) are freely movable relative to the holder and the distances between the swivel axes (100, 120, 230, 300) are dimensioned so that the horizontal force components each taken up by the back part (1) and front support part (3) cancel each other out. USE/ADVANTAGE - The backrest, seat and front support part form a freely movable linked chain and automatically adapt to chhanging loads so that an alteration to the incline of the backrest suitably changes the incline of the seat.
